TarePet is a calling to help the younger generation not only in academics but as an avenue to share the word of God, bringing the word of God to pupils and bringing them unto their fulfilled destiny.
The Lord led me to Yenagoa, Bayelsa state and prepared the place ahead of me in 2002. To God be the glory for he supplied all the needs at the right time. I retired from my teaching work at NNPC Staff School January 2005 and went for my first missionary journey in August 2005. The Lord's hand rested upon TarePet with great evidence after my missionary trip.
On 1st October, 2002 the school resumed officially with 6 pupils. At the end of that year, we had 16 pupils. Today the Lord has increased us to a population of over 1,200 pupils, with a Digital and Computer suite, Home Economics and Multipurpose Science Laboratory, a modern Library as well as Boarding house facilities. We currently have a teaching staff strength of 70 and non-teaching staff strength of 12.
The School has made considerable advances with major improvements on the campus, an enhanced strategic footing and greater connectedness to the wider community, nationally and worldwide. TarePet Montessori have won the following awards;
Our pupils come from a wide range and diverse mix of backgrounds. We are one of the fastest growing boarding schools and one of only four coeducational full boarding schools in the state.
We are unashamedly academic – with 88% of pupils moving on to the leading universities in this country and abroad.
The pupils at TarePet Montessori receive much of the very best an independent education can provide – the journey they make from the time they arrive to when they leave is often profoundly rewarding, and along the way we support their growing resilience and success as they move on to university and beyond. We delight in their achievements and welcome them back to inspire and encourage current pupils.
